Review Denial by Lisa Renee Jones

Book one in the CARELESS WHISPERS series. This is a standalone spin-off of the INSIDE OUT series (soon to be a TV show) that follows Ella Ferguson, Sara McMillan's best friend.

Ella Ferguson awakes alone in Italy, unsure of who she is, and a gorgeous man has claimed her as his own. He’s tall, dark, and sexy, with money and power, the kind of man who makes a girl want to be possessed. And he does possess her, whispering wicked wonderful promises to her, stealing her trust and her heart. Soon though, the past finds her, yanking her from a cocoon of passion and safety. Everything is not how it seems. The truth will shatter her world, but it can set her free, if it doesn't destroy her first.

Ugh! No one does drama and mystery and heart pounding circumstances like LRJ! Kayden where can I even begun with him... Sexy, alluring, dangerous , strong , captivating and secretive. Ella well we all know more then she does... Well you do if you read the inside out series if you didn't I can only imagine where your
head would be. I've been salivating for Ella's story! Like just dying for it! And Denial left me satisfied that I finally got a taste but I NEED MORE. HOW LRJ always leaves up going UGH WHY ARENT THERE MORE PAGES will always be my favorite
thing about her. I can't even handle the fact that I need to wait for the next book. So I'll be here not so patiently waiting.... You... Well you should be reading denial. But j would also recommend the Inside out series and the Amy benson series too because they all seem to be connected in ways i never saw
coming.

Review November 9 by Colleen Hoover

Beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with an unforgettable love story between a writer and his unexpected muse.

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day of her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

Review 5 Stars

Dammit she did it again. I don't know how or why I should even be surprised.
Hoover is constantly delivering these heart wrenchingly beautiful stories that
grab you and shock you and make you fall in love with her characters over and
over. Finally I was left shocked just staring at my book I was given clues that
Ben was hiding something.... But never would I even have contemplated that THAT
was his secret. Fallon and Bens story just might be my favorite I love how
different and unique and epically amazing it is. Nothing will hold a candle to
it for quite a while. I'm so glad I got to enjoy these two characters and
experience the amazing journey Hoover wrote with such such I seriously can't
even think of a word to adequately describe how amazing her writing in November
9 is. I guess you'll just have to experience it for yourself because nothing can
come close to doing it justice except first hand knowledge.

Review Reapers Fall by Joanna Wylde

He never meant to hurt her.

Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.

Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.

Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.

Review 4 Stars

Gosh I effing love these books. There saw raw and dirty and not your average
boring story. There's always so much going on other then just being about Mel
and Painter. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been waiting for Painters book
since the whole Em thing. There was just always something about him dark and
mysterious I guess. I loved really getting to know him in Reapers Fall and he's
so much more then I ever could have imagined. I loved the history of him and Mel
as well as the push and pull between them. I loved the drama and mayhem that no
one pulls of better then Wylde. By far my favorite MC series it's truly the only
one I've stuck with the other just can't compare in my mind.

Review Madame X by Jasinda Wilder

Madame X invites you to test the limits of control in this provocative new novel from New York Times bestselling author Jasinda Wilder.
My name is Madame X.
I’m the best at what I do.
And you’d do well to follow my rules...

Hired to transform the uncultured, inept sons of the wealthy and powerful into decisive, confident men, Madame X is a master of the art of control. With a single glance she can cut you down to nothing, or make you feel like a king.

But there is only one man who can claim her body—and her soul.

Undone time and again by his exquisite dominance, X craves and fears his desire in equal measure. And while she longs for a different path, X has never known anything or anyone else—until now...

Review

Hmmm. Madam X is a totally what the feck is going on kind of book. Madam X (the person not the book/ sorta) makes me so dang frustrated. I want her to make rational decisions but I guess considering not her "situation" the ones she makes are rational to her. To me I just want to scream and shake her! Ugh Logan
Logan Logan. Where art tho Logan. Logan seems to be like a knight in shining armor but I'm not yet totally convinced. And Caleb seriously don't even get me started on the bottom feeder. I feel like he is so much more nefarious then we have even begun to realize. I hope Madam C starts to want to become her own
person and actually live. Great book that leaves you wanting more.

Review Tryst by S.L. Jenning

From the author of Taint, comes this steamy novel of a happily married couple who decides to take a walk on the wild side in order to add spice to their sex life—but end up in a situation that neither could have ever bargained for.

Heidi DuCane is a tough-as-nails publicist with a passion for success and her husband Tucker. While they’re polar opposites, what they do have in common is a fierce love and commitment to each other. But their relationship—in and out of the bedroom—will be put to the ultimate test.

Rock superstar Ransom Reed is every woman’s fantasy, including Heidi’s. When she meets Ransom, she shares a wild night with him where Heidi gets to play—and Tucker watches, and enjoys, the pleasure Ransom gives Heidi. Though Tucker was a willing participant, Heidi still can’t help reeling with guilt. There’s no doubt that she loves her husband. While Tucker is the perfect lover—generous, attentive and gentle—she needs much more. She needs the mind-blowing ecstasy Ransom offers.

Tucker isn’t blind to the fact that Heidi has unconventional needs which he can’t satisfy. He loves his wife and will do anything to please her The night he watched her and Ransom was so scorching hot that Tucker can’t stop thinking about it. He decides he wants to join Ransom in pleasing Heidi. But as Tucker and Heidi soon realize, it’s not just the sex that is enticing. Heidi felt something within her awaken, and she felt so deliciously sated and loved by both men. Tucker felt it too, and he finds it impossible not to want that feeling again.

Ransom and Tucker satisfy a need within Heidi. And now that she’s had them, she can never go back to the way things were before.

Truthfully if I had read the synopsis of Tryst... I can't honestly say I would have read the book. That being said I'm glad I did. It is one of the most entertaining books I have read lately. I can't say it is anything I would normally get into... the relationships and way the couple did things isn't anythingI would agree with, do or even think about doing. But I think thats what made it interesting to read. I didn't care much for Heidi... which normally if you don't like the main character the book tends to be a wash.. but that isn't the case with Tryst for me...  while I didn't like Heidi and couldn't understand her need or want for Ransom it didn't take away from my enjoyment. Tucker... seriously I don't think there was a ever a more perfect male character ever written.... Which is I guess where my dislike for Heidi stems from... I just didn't get it. These characters are all so very complex and well written it is hard not to get sucked into the story and totally forget about your surroundings.

Begging for It by Lilah Pace Review

The provocative author of Asking for It once again explores the dark side of erotic obsession, and the secrets that make it as dangerous as it is irresistible.

Some secrets should only be shared in the dark.

Jonah and Vivienne’s erotic bond—living out raw scenarios of captivity and force—began as no-strings sex between strangers who shared the same desires. Now the intimacy between them is turning into love, but it’s a love built on fantasies so extreme that exploring them makes guilt inescapable. But the risks they're taking are far more dangerous than they'd imagined.

A stalker is terrorizing the city, and one of Jonah’s ex-lovers names him as a potential suspect to the police. Standing by a man under suspicion could cost Vivienne everything. But when Jonah’s stepfather takes advantage of the scandal to seize control of the Marks family fortune, Vivienne is drawn into her lover’s broken family and twisted past. Only then will she learn how dark the truth really is...

Review 4 Stars

I didn't think I'd like this series.... But a few book friends just kept talking
about which of course leaves a book lover intrigued. So I took the leap... I was
scared. I've never read anything similar and just didn't know what to expect.
With Vivienne you can kind of understand where her need comes from as well as
with Jonah. Doesn't mean some of the scenes were difficult or easy to get
through. But I don't think they're meant to be. It reminds you that you can
never really understand what people or going through or why they do what they
do. I don't know if I'd ever read another story like this. I don't know if the
situations could be handled with such care as they were in Asking and Begging
for it. This would be the series to start with and try if your curious.

RACING THE SUN
Karina Halle

From the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of Where Sea Meets Sky comes a new adult novel about a young woman who becomes a nanny in Capri and falls for her charges’ bad-boy brother.

When I’m traveling, I feel like the secret to my life, to myself, to really becoming, is one step ahead. It’s in the next destination, the next town I get lost in, the next stranger I talk to. It’s always next but never here . . .

After six months of backpacking and soul-searching across the world, Amber MacLean is flat broke. There are worse places for a twentysomething to be stuck than the Amalfi Coast, but the only way she can earn enough money for a plane ticket home to California is to teach English to two of the brattiest children she has ever met.

It doesn’t help that the children are under the care of their brooding older brother, ex-motorcycle racer Desiderio Larosa. Darkly handsome and oh-so-mysterious, the young master of the crumbling villa tests Amber’s patience and will at every turn—not to mention her hormones.

When her position turns into a full-time nanny gig, Amber grows dangerously closer to the enigmatic recluse. But can she give up the certainty of home for someone whose closely guarded heart feels a world apart from her own?

So I have been in sort of a slump..... this is the first book I've probably made it through from start to finish in months. Life has been crazy... between house buying ..kids being out of school and of course the endless summer activities. Today was a crappy rainy day here in Chicago and I decided to dive in.. because c'mon if any would could break my crappy streak it HAD to be Karina Halle.. who I have come to love love love. Racing the Sun was everything I needed it to be today. Sweet, sexy, brave and a backdrop to die for.... like really I wish I could live there. On a rainy day reading about the beauty of Capri was seriously a breath of fresh air for me. Amber takes on a role I didn't think she was exactly "ready" for but she was in a tight spot and hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Who knew that a job to pay for a plane ticket would become something compared to a Disney story. I loved every moment of Racing the Sun....I was scared.. I was swept away.. I had moments of sorrow and moments of joy. This is an amazing book.  I could sit here and go on and on but I would spoil what should be enjoyed first hand.. so just read it you know you want to.

So as you all know we are in the process of closing on our house and moving... as well as having two boys in baseball so my life right now is like BEYOND hectic and i haven't gotten a chance to read Midnight Captive yet (totally bummed about that) so I have included my review of Midnight Action the last book in the series.

Enjoy! And don't miss out on the awesome series!

This is FOR SURE ON MY VERY SOON TBR!!!

MIDNIGHT CAPTIVE by Elle Kennedy

“Get back in the car,” he said sternly.
Bailey glared at him. “No.” Shoulders rigid, she turned toward the open passenger window and addressed her colleague. “Thanks for the assist today. I owe you one.”
Then, to Sean’s dismay, she tapped the window frame to signal Rafe to drive, and the tight-lipped bastard actually did, leaving the smell of oil and car exhaust in his wake.
“Damn it,” Sean burst out. “Get the fuck out of here, Bailey. I don’t need you.”
“Yes, you do.” She folded her arms, anger coloring her tone. “You’re still playing games, but I know something is wrong. I know you.”
The volatile emotions bubbling inside him spilled over like a volcanic eruption. “What, you think because you’ve had my cock inside you that it means you know me? Think again, luv.”
His crude words brought a flush to her cheeks, and her expression went stricken. He knew she was thinking about their night together. The way he’d filled her. Fucked her. And now he was thinking about it too, the sheer perfection of her hot pussy clamped around him, her nails raking down his back as she moaned in abandon.
Sean’s gaze dropped to her mouth, those pale pink lips that had so eagerly kissed him that night.
But of course she’d been eager. She’d thought she was kissing Oliver, for Christ’s sake. He’d been making love to Bailey that night, but she sure as hell hadn’t been making love to him.
“You don’t know me,” he said flatly. “You were never interested in knowing me, and I don’t want you here.”
“Well, too bad, because I’m not going anywhere.”
Sean struggled to control his frustration. He’d known she was stubborn, but seeing that muleheadedness firsthand made him want to strangle her.
“I’m serious. Starting now, I’m your fucking shadow, Sean. I won’t—”
“He has Ollie.”
Bailey froze. “Rabbit?”
Sean pressed his fists against his sides, pissed off that he’d caved. No, that she’d broken him.

My Review of Midnight Action

She’s got a broken heart...
and a fully loaded arsenal....

Ex–army ranger Jim Morgan leads a team of elite mercenaries, but eighteen years ago in Paris, he was part of a black ops unit whose mission was to hunt down a rogue operative. In order to trap the criminal, Jim seduced Noelle, the man’s daughter—a ruthless act that cost him the love of his life and turned her into a mortal enemy. Now he can’t trust her, but he still desires her. He also needs her help....

Older, wiser, and unwilling to play the fool again, Noelle runs a group of highly skilled assassins. And she’s just been offered the hit of the century: Eliminate Jim Morgan. History gives them no reason to trust each other, but with their lives in jeopardy at the hands of a common enemy, the lines between love and hate are soon blurred. Now Noelle and Jim must face the past if they want to have a future—let alone a future together.

Going into Midnight Action I was a little apprehensive...it was book 5 in a series.. and I hadn't read the other 4 books! This is not something I would normally do.. but Jessica over at Penguin had so much enthusiasm in her email about this book, I really couldn't NOT read it. I don't know how much Noelle and Morgan are featured in previous books, but I truly believe this one can be read as a stand alone (AND SHOULD BE READ). Now if you want to read the whole kit and caboodle feel free and I can say with utmost certainty they are probably all worth the read. Midnight Action has many intricate pieces all woven together so perfectly to create this amazing and heart pounding tale.  I was dying to find out why these previous sweethearts were now tone cold enemies! How do you get from love to hate? And what happens when you have 19 years to let that hate fester? SOOO MUCH GOODNESS!!  There is a lot going on in Midnight Action  so I beg you to pay close attention to you don't miss out on anything! And just a tiny bit of info before I go and leave you to hopefully read Midnight Action for yourself.. there is some SLIGHT M/M  in Midnight Action ( again I don't know if this is a common theme in the series) but it's not in your face and was done really well.. so even if it's not your thing (it's not mine) I still believe you would really enjoy this story.

ASKING FOR IT by Lilah Pace
EXCERPT

It's all delightful fun until you have to explain your life choices to your shrink.
"To say I have mixed feelings about this," Doreen said, "would be putting it lightly."
"You're not supposed to give opinions about my life. That's not what therapists do, right? They listen."
Doreen shoots me a look. "Have we ever had a traditional patient-therapist relationship?"
"No," I admit.
"And I doubt we're going to start now. Besides, I gave you my opinion when you asked whether or not I could 'believe this.' If you weren't uncertain about your decision, you wouldn't have asked."
She just poked through the bubble of giddiness I've floated in since Jonah and I spoke two nights earlier. All the concerns I had – that I still have – become clear once more.
She says, "I have to admit, I feared your meetings with Jonah would prove destructive, and they haven't. The shame you've carried about your rape fantasy has diminished to some degree. Both he and you took precautions to ensure your safety. Best-case scenario, I'd say. But you need to be aware what you're doing now – merging your fantasy life and your emotional life – that's about a thousand times more complicated."
"What's going to be so different?" I snap.
"You tell me."
I hate it when Doreen makes me answer my own questions, mostly because I usually do know the answers. They're just answers I don't like. For a moment I fidget on the couch – pushing up the arms of my white cardigan, curling my feet beneath me. But I can't postpone replying for long. "… I still wonder what kind of a man has such powerful fantasies about rape. When we play our games, he knows exactly what would scare me. He knows how to be cruel. He's thought about that a lot."
"That's a valid consideration."
"How can I judge him for that when I have rape fantasies too?"
"You know why you're so fixated on them. You don't know why he is."
I want to tell Doreen my theories about his family – about his anger with his mother, the way her threats might have taught him about violence. However, I remain quiet. Doreen would simply say that it's only a theory, with absolutely no proof to support it. She would be correct.
More gently, Doreen says, "Have you ever considered telling Jonah the truth about your rape?"
"No." The word comes out more sharply than I intended.
"You've still never told anyone besides your mother and me, have you?"
I shake my head. "Nobody else."
One time, years later, I tried to tell Chloe the truth about that night. But she shut me down before I'd even revealed the whole story, telling me I'd always been jealous of her, asking whether I'd come on to any of her other boyfriends. It wasn't exactly a moment for the Sisterly Bonding Hall of Fame. So Chloe still doesn't know. "Refusing to believe" is the same as "not knowing," right? For my sister, it might as well be.
"It's your secret. A piece of your life that's yours to share or not to share, as you see fit. You never have to tell a soul if you don't want to." Doreen has never tried to make me feel ashamed of my own silence, for which I'm deeply grateful. Sometimes I see courageous rape survivors on television or the internet, braving clueless commentators or vicious trolls to speak out about their experiences, and my admiration of them is mirrored by my own sense of cowardice. She continues, "But keeping this secret from Jonah – giving him that kind of power, without knowing how deep your wounds lie –"
"I've handled it so far," I say. Which is true.
So far, though, Jonah and I have played "softer" games. Ones where I could easily reassert myself at any second. I want more than that from him, though. I want him to tie me up. I want him to fight me, to defeat me.
I want him to own me.

When the sex between Jonah and me turned out to be so freaking amazing, I thought maybe I'd disarmed Anthony's power over me, for good.  What if I only buried the bomb deeper? As Jonah and I dig further into my darkest fantasies, we might be getting closer to the fuse.

Asking For It is definitely out of my comfort zone and the type of
sex depicted in it is totally not my thing. But the characters? The characters
intrigued me beyond belief I HAD to know what was behind the wants they had and
how or if they would ever over come them. Rape is just so traumatic (not that I
could even begin to understand it) and not something I could even try to take
lightly and I was scared going into Asking For it if we hadn't constantly been
in the heroines head it might have ended up being a DNF for me but we know that
while she's enjoying it and wants it she also isn't happy about her enjoyment of
it. Truthfully this book WILL not be for everyone and it it wasn't for all the
other great aspects of it it wouldn't have been for me but finding out the
truths and having to know the outcome kept me hooked and there just wasn't any
possibility of me putting it down

Just in time for summer...Totally a perfect title Suddenly One Summer. This is a total beach/pool side read. Light and easy..super quick. With really likable and relate-able characters. It touches lightly on some as the character put it "messed up issues" but nothing that got my eyes watering. Ford is totally drool worthy and dreamy... and Victoria could be one of your best friends.... together they are a great pair. The witty banter and sexual tension is what totally makes this book worth while.

Fury by Fisher Amelie Review

Can be read as a standalone.

Revenge is an euphoric thing. Trust me on this. Nothing compares to the release you get when you ruin someone’s life. When they’ve stolen important things. Things that didn’t belong to them. Things I revel in making them pay for.

What? Have I offended you? I’m not here to appeal to your delicate senses. I have no intention of placating your wishes or living within your personal belief system nor do I care if you hate me. And you will hate me. Because I’m a brutal, savage, cold-blooded murderer and I’m here for my revenge.

I’m Ethan Moonsong…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most sacrificing man to the most feared and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

Fury is a cut above the rest. It touches you in a way not many others could even
begin to. Fischer always delivers these powerful excruciating amazing deep books
that are so much more then a love story. They are stories of strength and
goodness and beauty found in strange ways. Love plays as background. Love is
never the most important part love is just there. The story lies in what the
characters are facing and its heavy and horrific and so hard to stomach but it's
also amazing and you could only wish that there were more people I the real
world like the characters in Fury. Fury will touch your heart and soul and
probably make you cry but it is worth it ten fold.

About the Author

Fisher Amelie resides in the South with her kick ace husband slash soul mate. She earned her first 'mama' patch in 2009. She also lives with her Weim, 'Jonah', and her Beta, 'Whale'. All these living creatures keep the belly of her life full, sometimes to the point of gluttony, but she doesn't mind all that much because life isn't worth living if it isn't entertaining, right?

Fisher grew up writing. She secretly hid notebooks and notebooks of dribble in a large Tupperware storage container in her closet as a kid. She didn't put two and two together until after college where it suddenly dawned on her, "Hey, I like writing". She's a bit dense. "No, I'm not." "Yes, you are. Put down that Oreo, your butt can't take any more." "You're rude." "Yeah, yeah." Anyway, she likes to write and has finally beaten her self-esteem into submission enough to allow herself to be scrutinized under the 'other readers' microscope. "No! No! Not a cover slip! Last time it gave me a ra...." (mumbling)

Review & Release Tessa Ever After

In this grippingly emotional New Adult novel from the author of Caged in Winter, what you want isn’t always what you need…

Jason’s been living (and loving) the rich playboy lifestyle for five years, but now his parents are pressuring him to get involved in the family business. The last thing he wants is another obligation, but when his best friend moves out of state and asks Jason to look after his sister, he can’t just say no.

Tessa had to grow up way too soon. After dealing with the aftermath of her parents’ deaths, then becoming a teenage mom, she knows the meaning of responsibility. Which is why, at twenty-two, she’s looking for so much more than a party boy. She’s looking for someone who can stand by her and her daughter…forever.

A relationship between them is doomed from the start, but who says they can’t have a little fun? But as Jason gets closer to Tessa—and her daughter—fun starts to turn into something else… Something Jason’s not sure he’s ready for

Tessa Ever After is sweetness personified. Jason and Tess are sooo freaking adorable and sweet in pretty sure I have a tooth ache. And don't even get me started on the adorablness of Jason and Haley!!! Such a well written
story and it just feels like it could be so real. I love that about a book. I want to read something that could happen to my best friend. That real ness just adds that extra something to this amazing story. I can't even begin to tell you that the hotness is totally off the charts.... And that Jason just maybe the perfect man. Tessa Ever After is a must read is you believe in the HEA.
