Flat Out Celeste Review

Whether you were charmed by Celeste in Flat-Out Love or are meeting her for the first time, this book is a joyous celebration of differences, about battling private wars that rage in our heads and in our hearts, and—very much so— this is a story about first love.

For high-school senior Celeste Watkins, every day is a brutal test of bravery. And Celeste is scared. Alienated because she’s too smart, her speech too affected, her social skills too far outside the norm, she seems to have no choice but to retreat into isolation.

But college could set her free, right? If she can make it through this grueling senior year, then maybe. If she can just find that one person to throw her a lifeline, then maybe, just maybe.

Justin Milano, a college sophomore with his own set of quirks, could be that person to pull her from a world of solitude. To rescue her—that is, if she’ll let him.

Together, they may work. Together, they may save each other. And together they may also save another couple—two people Celeste knows are absolutely, positively flat-out in love.

5 Stars

This is the easiest 5 stars I have given in a very long time.  I wish I had the vocabulary and way with words to write the kind of review Flat-Out Celeste deserves. But I will do my best.

As much as this story is just that a story, it also to me is so much. It's a journey, an awakening, it's an EXPERIENCE.

One that shouldn't be missed.

On the point of the story, it's great, but to me it's not what made this book. No what did that was Celeste. Celeste is so much more then a character, she is everything. She is smart, classy, elegant and a little quirky. I mean c'mon who isn't? I've been a fan of Celeste for a very long time, she is hands down one of my favorite characters to ever be written, and she just might be the most complicated.  But Justin just might be able to give her a run for the money when it comes to being complicated. Ying to yang. Hot to cold. Justin to Celeste. Opposites. Yet they make perfect sense. I won't divulge to much of what transpires because seriously that would ruin all your fun and destroy the experience.

I wish I had the magic words to compel you to pick up Flat-Out Celeste, I hope that you get to know Celeste and believe in her the way I do. What I suggest above all is that you begin your journey with Flat-Out Love, and in all honesty Flat-Out Celeste "COULD" be a stand alone, but I personally wouldn't recommend  it for so many reasons but the most important one being you wouldn't truly value and appreciate Celeste for who she is. For those of you who aren't new to the series a bonus for you is snippets of Matt & Julie.

If I had to sum up what Flat-Out Celeste is about I could come up with many words

but my favorite would be BRAVERY, if there was anything I took away from Celeste is that I wish I could be as brave as her.
