PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVE NOT READ CONNECTED BECAUSE IT WILL CONTAIN MAJOR SPOILERS!!!! AND I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU READ CONNECTED ITS AMAZEBALLS.
Torn is the sequel to Connected and will be released Fall 2013.
Connected and Torn complete a duet following the main characters that you met in Connected.
The rest of the series will be a set of 4 spin-off novels (approx. 150 pages) following secondary characters in the series introduced in Connected.
4 out of 5 Stars
How do you follow up a book like Connected where Dahlia and River touched our hearts and made us feel like they would bleed out if these two didn't find happiness? Well with a book like Torn!
Where Connected was sad and romantic, Torn is more angry and resentful.
Everyone seemed to be fighting.
Ben & Dahlia
Dahlia & River
River & Zander
Dahlia & Grace
Well okay it's not like we didn't expect crap to go down once everyone knew Ben was really alive.
I had some suspicions of mine about Ben from Connected totally confirmed in Torn!
and I was all like
That actually kinda sucks....
Ben oh Benny Boy seemed to think he would come back and Dahlia would just be there waiting with open arms, and when that is not the case lets just say he doesn't exactly believe her.
And Dahlia Dahlia Dahlia I guess she never realized River was ALWAYS dealing with feeling like he was second fiddle to Ben, and continues to make it worse! Not that River was being super helpful and forthcoming either.. which left me going
But when it comes to Dahlia and River nothing is ever easy is it?
Also lets not forget that as was the case in Connected TORN was HOT HOT HOT!!!
Kim Karr again is going to take you on an emotional roller coaster full of twists and turns that might leave you hurling your feelings at your kindle. Yes you may find yourself yelling at it, I sure did. I was so damn frustrated with these characters! I was like OMG TALK TO EACH OTHER! Stop running! But then again that wouldn't have made a very good story huh? Prepare to be swept back into the world of River Wilde because that man is sin on a stick but he also has a heart of gold and will not be giving up Dahlia with out a few (maybe even a few). If you loved Connected I with out a doubt know you will also love Torn, AND if for some reason you did not heed my SPOILER warning I still think you should read Connected anyway.
With so much pain and anger welling up inside me, I know I can’t have this conversation with him right now. Feeling strangled, out of breath, I take a step back and free my hand from his. I trusted him completely—and he kept this from me. I have to calm down and figure out what that means. At the same time I can’t help looking into his mesmerizing green eyes. I can’t handle seeing my own fear and anger reflected in his eyes any longer. His stare intensifies and he’s looking at me, and I mean really looking at me, as if willing our connection to fix all of this.
I swallow a few times before forcing myself to look away. “No River, I can’t talk to you when we’re like this. I know we will both say things we don’t mean. We need time to figure our anger out before we sit down and have a conversation.”
He tries to yank me flush to his body. His voice shakes with fury. “I don’t need time to figure anything out. I get it. You left me a note. You ran here the first chance you got to see him! Was it a happy reunion or were things just getting started?”
I have never heard this kind of furious tone from him before, and, without any control, I pull back and slap him. “I told you I’m not having this conversation right now. Listen to yourself!”
