Review of Death of the Mad Hatter by Sarah J. Pepper

Death of the Mad Hatter
Sarah J. Pepper

The Jack prophesied: If the king loses his head, then the Queen with a Bleeding Heart would rule the Red Court until Time ceased to move forward. When a second carried on for infinity, every creature in Wonderland would tip their Hat to the misfit girl with a Boy’s name (or was it a boy with a Girl’s name?) who’d end the Reign of Terror. However, it all hinged on the One-Eyed Hare being able to convince an uninspirable Heir that the impossible was indeed possible—like stopping time—and that Love was worth a Beheading.

Heads would Roll…
Hearts would Break…
In the end, would it matter who Reigned?

5 Stars!

Love it, love it, love!! By far my favorite Alice/Wonderland anything EVER! This story is so intricate and driving, I couldn't help but be sucked down the rabbit hole. Death of the Mad Hatter isn't your regular Alice story either, Sarah J. Pepper brought her own flavor to the beloved tale that is truly unique.

The story shifts between Alice Mae and Ryley, as well as between past and present. I'm not a ordinarily fan of flashbacks unless they're down well and Sarah doesn't disappoint. The transitions between scenes were especially excellent. The story never dropped off and every scene drove you into the next. Sarah is the Queen of piquing in your interest and keeping you fully engaged in the story. I highly recommend!
