Review~Ten Tiny Breaths~ K.A. Tucker

"Just breathe" my mom would say. "Ten tuny breathes...Seize them. Feel them. Love them."

I don't even know where to begin reviewing this book, my heart aches after finishing it. It was beautiful. Very well written and the story was amazing. Kacey experiences great trauma in her life when she loses almost her entire family and she spirals down a destructive path until her sister pulls her out of it, and then Uncle Raymond climbs into Livie's bed and she takes her sister and moves to Miami. Kacey has learned to be cold and almost uncaring until she meets Trent who "melts" her cold heart, along with her neighbor Storm and her daughter Mia who she can't help to care about. To me this story is about forgiveness, forgiving yourself as well as forgiving others and learning to cope. Kacey suffers PTSD and refuses to discuss anything involving her past and just when she starts to really feel like her self again the unthinkable happens. This story has left me with what everyone is calling a book hangover it is an extremely beautiful story about healing and I strongly recommend it .

5 out of 5 stars (I want to hug this book)

Synopsis
Kacey Cleary's whole life imploded 4 years ago in a drunk driving accident. Now she's working hard to bury the pieces she left behind - all but one. Her little sister Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born again Aunt Darla over her self destructive life style: she cans top her self from going kick boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they get the hell out of Grand Rapids Michigan.

But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed with Livie one night, Kacey decides it's time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast , Kacey and Livie start their new lives in an apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a perfectly matched stage name to her profession. But Kaceys not worried. She can handle them all.  What she can;t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.  Kacey doesn't want to feel. She doesn't.  It's safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again.  She starts to believe, but she's not the only one that's broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgivable past of his own: one that when discovered will shatter Kacey's newly constructed life and send her back into the suffocating darkness.
